Super Bowl 2025 Marketing Recap: AI, Creativity, American Spirit

Well, my team lost the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs just couldn’t pull off another miracle, and as much as it stings, I have to give credit where it’s due. But while the game had its share of heartbreak, the Super Bowl isn’t just about football - it’s about the spectacle, the entertainment, and of course, the commercials. And let me tell you, this year’s marketing game had some clear winners and losers, too. In this Super Bowl 2025 Marketing Recap, I discuss how AI, Creativity, and the American Spirit took center stage.

AI Marketing At Its Finest

Before the game even started, AI stole the show. Jimmy Johnson, the legendary coach, had his career honored in a way I never saw coming - by his own digital twin. It was surreal, hearing an AI-generated version of Johnson narrating his own journey. Whether you find AI fascinating or terrifying, there’s no denying that it’s changing the way we experience storytelling. And that was just the beginning.

Salesforce and Coca-Cola both jumped into the AI conversation with their commercials. Salesforce leaned into the future of AI-driven business, while Coke, ever the marketing powerhouse, made sure to remind us that while technology is evolving, some classics - like the taste of their soda - are timeless.

Super Bowl 2025 Marketing Recap - Super Bowl Marketing Winners

As for my favorite commercials? Well, let’s break it down:

WeatherTech Grannies- Super Bowl 2025
WeatherTech Grannies- Super Bowl Commercial

  1. WeatherTech Grannies – This one was a heartwarming surprise. Featuring a group of spirited grannies showing off their can-do attitude, it was a fun and uplifting ad that highlighted durability and hard work. It was a great reminder that toughness isn’t just for young athletes.

  2. Moment of Unity – Rocket Mortgage – Set to the tune of "Country Roads," this commercial leaned into nostalgia and togetherness, emphasizing the importance of home and community. It was a feel-good moment that resonated with a lot of viewers.

  3. Nike’s Girl Power Commercials – Nike brought the empowerment message strong this year with two commercials focused on girl power. They both played on the idea of "Whatever you do, you can't win - so win!", only to showcase female athletes proving everyone wrong. It was inspiring and perfectly in line with Nike’s brand. The eyerolls were the icing on the cake! Watch them here.

  4. Jeep with Harrison Ford Write Your Own Story – Jeep leaned into storytelling with a creative and adventurous ad starring Harrison Ford. It encouraged viewers to create their own journeys and embrace the spirit of exploration. “Freedom is for everybody. But is not free, it’s earned.”A solid win for Jeep. Watch it here.

  5. Angelsoft’s Potty-tunity– This might have been the most genius ad of the night. Knowing that viewers might need a break from all the action, Angelsoft cleverly positioned itself as the perfect partner for those much-needed intermissions. It was humorous, relatable, and well-timed. Watch it here.

Who Won the Super Bowl? American Spirit

Brad Pitt- Super Bowl Opener- Huddle Up
Brad Pitt- Super Bowl Opener- Huddle Up

At the end of the day, the real winner of the Super Bowl was the American spirit. From Brad Pitt’s opener asking America to "huddle up" to Lady Gaga honoring first responders in the French Quarter, the night was filled with moments that reminded us of unity and resilience. One of the most touching highlights was 8-year-old Declan LeBaron, a little boy with juvenile arthritis and a giving spirit, who announced the Philadelphia Eagles with Bradley Cooper - a moment of pure joy and inspiration.

So “Huddle Up” America! Let’s go imagine big things - eye to eye and shoulder to shoulder. In this space, we are the same. Together. #America

Now tell me, what was your inspirational moment at the 2025 Super Bowl?
